The Reading Foundation has locations in Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver, that specialize in the assessment and treatment of learning difficulties through intensive remediation. Our research-based programs address not only reading, but also spelling, writing, comprehension, and math. The services that we provide are more akin to educational therapy than traditional tutoring. The Reading Foundation has a diverse client base, ranging in age and ability.

We are seeking dedicated, conscientious, flexible individuals who thrive in a fast-paced working environment. This is an ideal position for those looking to positively affect the lives of students through education.

Clinicians are responsible for:

  • Instructing students one-to-one in all remediation programs
  • Carefully following student’s individual programs as set by the Team Leader
  • Communicating observations about students to the Team Leader on a weekly basis
  • Contributing to an empowering and collegial environment

We are currently looking for qualified applicants to work for our team on a full-time basis starting in May, 2023. This will be an incredible opportunity to be an integral part of our teaching team.

Full-time availability is required. Candidates who will switch to part-time availability in the fall may also be considered. Availability for Saturdays (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) and weekdays including early evenings (8:00 am – 6:30 pm) is also required. Minimum 1 year commitment.

Successful candidates will have:

  • The ability to establish rapport quickly, and with people of all ages
  • A patient manner and compassionate nature
  • The ability to adapt their teaching style to the needs of the student
  • Strong reading and spelling skills

A background in psychology, some education streams (including EA), linguistics, English, sociology, or cognitive science is an asset. These positions require internal training.
